Pride of Selston

Every year approximately 800 schools from across England enter the National Cup.
This week our Year 8 boys team travelled to Boston Grammar School for their 5th-round tie.
Conditions were dry but very cold as the Selston Team worked tirelessly never giving up and always supporting each other.
The match was very tight with the teams locked together at 3-3 at the end of normal time.
Tensions rose as the match went into extra time.
The Selston team remained calm continuing their free-flowing style of play.
Their efforts were rewarded with two quick goals without reply as they ran out 5-3 victors.
They are now in the last 32 of the competition and are awaiting the draw to find out their opponents.
With many of the team playing for local teams and academies, praise should be given to all those who have helped develop their skills, passion and teamwork.
Well done Year 8 – fingers crossed for a home tie in the next round!
