Selston High School currently has limited vacancies in some of our year groups. We encourage all families to visit the school to see the excellent facilities and meet the Headteacher.

With effect from 1st November 2021, applications for in-year places should be made directly to Selston High School, click here to complete the application form.

As part of our duty of care we will then be in touch with your child’s previous school to ensure that we can meet their needs. If your application is successful, you will be given a start date (usually after a half term or term). Your child will then be supported in their transition into their new school.

Moving Schools – Advice For Families

Transition

We know that the transition process can be exciting and intriguing for some, yet a worrying and nervous time for others.

We can’t wait for your child to join us in September and to welcome them into a ‘good’ school were staff work extremely hard to support all students. At Selston High School we pride ourselves on having positive relationships with students and families alike and hope that you will support us in allowing a calm yet challenging environment for your child’s learning to thrive. This year may be slightly different with the current pandemic, but nevertheless, we hope that through engagement now, we can still get to know your child before their arrival in September, albeit virtually.

Our transition process is supported through Open Evenings, Induction Evening, Induction Days, Transition Visits (both here and at your child’s primary) and Tutor Contacts, all of which take place every year. You will find the relevant information for all of these key dates on this page as and when they are due to take place.
