The following comments were noted at our last inspection in 2019:

“Relationships between adults and pupils are productive and supportive.”

“Teachers create a positive learning environment in lessons.”

“Teachers have a strong grasp of their subject knowledge and the external assessment requirements.”

“Senior leaders have accurately identified the school’s strengths and weaknesses. Their improvement plans are having a positive impact”

“Pupils are polite and courteous to each other. Mutual respect between pupils and staff is clearly evident.”

“There is a convivial atmosphere during social times and a calm learning environment throughout lessons.”

“Pupils feel safe, well cared for and supported in school.”

So please be assured that we will continue to develop the school so that it improves even further.

Once again thank you for your ongoing support.

Message from Mrs G Haslam – Chair of Governors

“We feel privileged to be the Governors of Selston High School, especially as the recent Ofsted inspection deemed us to have maintained our previous Good status.  The inspection was very thorough and involved lesson observations, work scrutiny, and meetings with teachers, middle and senior leaders and governors.

Whilst we are delighted with the report we are not complacent and shall continue to support and challenge in order to improve the provision for our students.  We shall also continue to work closely with the Headteacher to ensure the clear strategic direction and accountability of the school.

Our students and staff are our biggest asset and we shall continue to work hard to provide them with opportunities to benefit them in their future lives.”

Message from Mr W Davies – CEO of The Two Counties Trust

“We are so pleased that the continued excellence and high quality of education at Selston High School has been confirmed by Ofsted. We look forward to continuing to support the school as it pushes to achieve even greater heights.”
