We have been very impressed with the level of effort and work from Year 11 students so far this year and would like to thank you for your ongoing effort to support your children in making such a positive start to their final GCSE year.
Between 6th November and 24th November 2023, we will be holding Year 11 mock examinations. In preparation for these mocks and in preparation for the summer exams, we have arranged a Year 11 evening for all Year 11 students and their parents/carers on Thursday 12th October 2023, 6-8pm.
This session is following on from the revision evening which was held in the summer term of year 10. The evening will include a short introduction in the hall and then an opportunity to attend a 20-minute sessions for the core subjects, EBacc subjects and some options subjects. The sessions will be led by the head of department and will include the best ways to revise for the subject alongside which materials are available to help support your child. Each subject will provide revision materials for families to take away with them.
Teachers are carefully preparing students for these mock examinations, but independent revision is crucial for your child’s outcomes. Evidence shows that the earlier students start preparing for their GCSE’s the more confident they feel, this reduces their anxiety about exams and raises their outcomes.
