Admissions to Selston High School into year 7, up until the academic year starts, are managed by Nottinghamshire County Council. Selston High School is a popular choice for many local children, so we recommend that you list Selston High School as your first-choice school.    

The deadline for an on-time application for entry into year 7 in September 2025 is 31st October 2024.

For September 2025  the school intends to admit 180 students. (known as the published admission number, or PAN)

Late appeals will be heard at the same time as online appeals wherever possible or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

Last date to submit any additional information in support of your appeal. The independent Clerk will notify you of this date, which is usually 5 days before the date of your appeal hearing.
Decisions will be communicated in writing from the independent clerk, within 5 working days of the date of your appeal.  
In-year appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

In-Year Admissions

Selston High School currently has limited vacancies in some of our year groups. We encourage all families to visit the school to see the excellent facilities and meet the Headteacher.

Applications for in-year places should be made directly to Selston High School, click here to complete the application form. You will usually be advised in writing whether a place can be offered within ten school days of making your application and at the very latest within fifteen school days.

As part of our duty of care we will then be in touch with your child’s previous school to ensure that we can meet their needs. If your application is successful, you will be given a start date (usually after a half term or term). Your child will then be supported in their transition into their new school.

Miss Brough regularly visits primary schools in the local area with a focus on meeting our new students and answering any questions they may have.
