The Year 7 Boys football team travelled to Bentinck Miners Welfare to play Joseph Whitaker School in the Town Cup Final, a tournament involving schools from across North Nottinghamshire. A delayed kick-off time didn’t do the boys any favours as they went 1-0 down after only 5mins. Luckily they rallied together and went into halftime with a solid 3-1 lead thanks to goals from Josh Leake, Ollie Wilson and Evan Corcoran. A few substitutions were made at halftime, and despite sustained pressure from Joseph Whitaker in the second half, the boys ran out 5-1 winners thanks to goals from Finn Hewitt-Seals and Evan Corcoran doubling his tally for the evening! Mr Harris was delighted with the whole team’s attitude and commitment shown this year, with the Year 7s taking their trophy count to two for the year! (Having previously won the cup competition held at Sutton Lawn).
