During the first weekend of January, the Nottinghamshire County Junior Championships and Individual Schools Competition in Table Tennis took place. Members of the Selston community may have taken a particular interest in this event as Selston High School student Winston competed in the U16 Boys matches.
Looking to take the top prize in his age group and qualify for the opportunity to represent Nottingham in the English Individual Schools Competition taking place in April. Winston had quite the challenge ahead of him. After a course of hard-won victories, Winston achieved his goal, claiming first place in his age group and progressing to the National round of the competition.
