3rd Feb – Cross Country County Championship success
Following on from our district cross country success on Saturday a number of our students went to compete on behalf of Selston High School at the Nottinghamshire County Cross Country Championships. We are proud of and would like to congratulate the following students on their achievements and dedication.
Ollie G – 5th – qualified for national championships!!!
Luis E – 16th, Oscar KH – 21st, Emma M – 41st, Lucy T – 49th, Paige H – 68th, Sienna W

30th Jan – The Y7 Boy’s Football team beat Retford Oaks Academy, 8 (or 9?) nil in a resounding victory last night. They coped well with the long journey, and then went on to play so so well. They are now in the Semi finals of the Mansfield Town Cup. Our congratulations go to Bobby, Ruben, Bobby, Bobby, Henry, Jesse, Tyler, Luis, Sam, Oscar, Brandon, Riley and Aiden. #Smashingit (8 or 9 times)

29th Jan – Simply the BEST!!
On Monday Evening, Mrs Green and Mr Crow took several Year 8 girls and boys to compete in the district indoor athletics competition held at Sutton.
A fantastic display of athleticism from all involved meant both the girls and the boys won their separate competitions and will now go on to the county finals!
Well done to all involved!

22nd Jan – Coach ‘Nuno’ Harris is tonight a happy man not only because the Year 8 boys secured, in a tightly fought match, a 3-2 win over near neighbours Quarrydale in the 3rd round of the County Cup but in addition they also displayed the Selston values of Ambition, Teamwork Honesty and Respect. Well done to THE TEAM!

On a cold damp December day the Pe team took 15 students to Sherwood Pines to compete in the annual district cross country competition. Of the 15, 11 managed to finish inside the top 12 (Ollie Gregory won his race), meaning they have been selected to represent the district at the county competition! Congratulations to all involved, they were a real credit to the school and put in maximum effort!

4th Nov – On a cold and bleak November afternoon our Year 8’s were drawn against a team from The Henry Fanshawe School from Dronfield in the 4th round of the National Cup. Despite a valiant effort, the boys succumbed to a 6-1 defeat. Focus now turns to the County Cup and Town Cup #TeamSelston

18th Oct – With many members of the team playing in a tournament with players a year older than themselves well done to our Year 10 girls netball team who finished 4th out of 7 teams in the county netball tournament.

15th Oct – Congratulations also go to our Year 8 Football team who after a close and scrappy game against Carlton Academy that finished 2-2 after normal time extended their winning streak with a 5-4 victory on penalties. They now progress to the quarter finals of the County Cup!!

9th Oct – Congratulations to our Year 8 Boys Team who progressed in style to the quarter-finals of the town cup with a resounding 8-2 win (Jack K x3, Oscar K-H x2, Isaac B, Elliot T, and an OG) over a highly rated Joseph Whitaker team. Once again our school values of ambition, teamwork, honesty and respect where on display.
Well done to all involved!
 25th Sept – Congratulations to our year 11 boys who won 7-0 progressing to the 2nd round of the National Cup under the watchful eye of Mr ‘Nuno’ Harris.

25th Sept – Year 7 boys were praised for their attitude and teamwork as they progressed to the next round of the cup winning 9-0 although Mr Crow may have lost count!

25th Sept – Miss Hunt was very proud of our year 11 girls who came second in the area netball tournament held at Quarrydale Academy. Well done to all!
