World Book Day: Selston’s Creative Superstars!

This World Book Day, we challenged our students to take part in range of book themed competitions linked to the theme of escapism. Students could express their creativity through creative writing by entering the TTCT Creative Writing Competition, writing book recommendations, designing artwork for our school library and by designing Selston High School’s official 2025-26 bookmark. We were inundated with nearly 200 excellent entries and are extremely proud of the work produced by our students. We are thrilled to share and celebrate the winners, who received National Book Tokens and well-earned treats!

Selston Super Reader

Selston High school is proud to announce that Nancy in Year 8 has become Selston High School’s youngest Super Reader. As a result, she has received the coveted Super Reader badge, certificate and 20 Academic Pledge Points. Nancy has been a dedicated reader since she was in primary school and quickly rose to the challenge of reading 10 books expertly recommended by the Two Counties Trust. Nancy is also a student librarian and has played a major role in promoting new and engaging books across the school. More recently, she has become an integral part of the creative development of the school’s new newsletter, which we are hoping to launch in the near future.
