Thank you for your interest in Selston High School
Our Open Evening will be held between 6:30 and 8:30pm on Thursday 30th September on the main school site.
All parents of Year 5 or 6 students at local primary schools are welcome to attend with their child/children.
We have taken several measures to avoid the risks of large numbers mixing in enclosed spaces and ask for your co-operation during the evening to minimize the risk of Covid transmission.
As we have limited parking on site parents are asked to walk to the school if possible.
To ensure that traffic can continue to flow vehicles must not be parked on Chapel Road especially as we need to ensure that emergency vehicles have access to our site at all times.
As you enter our site you will be guided into the old Selston Library building which we now call ‘The Pit stop’.
Here you will be able to watch our promotional video before being divided up into groups of 20 and taken by our student ambassadors to your starting point.
The evening will then be spent in this group being led around the site dropping in in each subject area for a period of 5-10mins where in addition to being able to talk to staff you will be shown a series of presentations, demos and activities that highlight the work of the subject area.
As part of the tour there will also be opportunities to meet and our Learning Support and Student Support teams, The Headteacher, Senior Staff and School Governors.
After your tour you are welcome to return to The Pit Stop/Conference Room area where refreshments are available and senior staff will be on hand to answer any remaining questions you may have.
