Physical Education
Subject Leader Mrs L Green
Here at Selston High School we aim to deliver a high-quality physical education curriculum which inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities. We provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health, fitness, and sporting performance. Students will learn to reflect and understand what makes a performance effective and how to apply these principles to their own and others’ work. We also offer a range of opportunities to compete in sport and other activities to build character and help embed values such as fairness and respect.
During PE lessons pupils will work as both individuals and teams whilst experiencing a range of different roles and responsibilities such as; performer, leadership roles, and officiating. Through the variety of experiences, they learn how to be effective in competitive, creative, and challenging situations.
In Key Stage 3, students take part in the following activities:
Football Netball Orienteering Handball Rugby Cricket
Gymnastics Badminton Dance Hockey Trampolining Tennis
Table Tennis Rounders Athletics Fitness
